Case Study Manual Window Automation for Lincoln Academy As part of the National Academies Framework, Lincolnshire County Council, have appointed Balfour Beatty for three design and build contracts totalling £57 million. These are The Priory Witham Academy, The Priory City of Lincoln Academy and The Priory Academy LSST. The City of Lincoln Academy is part of the Priory Federation of Academies which will merge 5 schools in Lincoln into 3 multimillion pound academies. This is believed to be one of the largest academies scheme in the country. Six buildings make up the City of Lincoln Academy; a main 2-storey building and five single-storey teaching centres. Works have been carried out in two phases with the main building and two teaching centres in phase one, and the remaining three teaching centres following on after demolition of the existing buildings. The academy, which specialises in Engineering and Sports, will house 11-18 year old students from the City of Lincoln Community College. The new facility will offer students larger classrooms, state of the art high-tech science labs, a swimming pool and a first floor garden area to inspire students. The £26 million development covers about 10,000 square metres of floor space as well as the Premier League-standard football pitch and new tennis courts.
